Help on how to fight a speeding ticket and avoid getting points?

I just received my first ticket and I have no idea how to fight against it. I’ve never been before the courts, and I’m really nervous.

First, don’t be nervous. The cop wants to throw your butt in prison, but the judge won’t let him. When u go into court, plead NOT GUILTY. Tell judge judy that you wern’t speeding and the cop started talking dirty to you. Tell the judge u will never be able to sleep again.

depends what state but i would pleed not guilty to it and if its not that much over the speed limit that you were going most of the time you can ask for a deposition statement and possibly get it dropped down to a seatbelt ticket which is just a fine when you go to court talk to the police officer that gave you the ticket before you go up to the judge make sure you get there early to do that.

It depends on where you live, how fast you were going, and who you know. Speeding tickets are harder to fight than most. The reason is because it’s based on a fact (your speed) and not an officer’s speculation of the situation. I would just pay it. And then start going the speed limit so that it doesn’t happen again and eventually the points will disappear from your record. Your insurance company usually won’t up your rates just for a point or two. Good luck!
