How Close Do You Have To Be For A Radar Detector To Clock Your Speed?

it was a state trooper in new hampshire, who was not moving in his own vehicle. just wondering how close does the car have to be in order for it to give an accurate reading? the only information i have is that it was a radar. are there any reliable sites with this information?
thank you!

Radar range varies widely with radar, target (size/shape), and weather conditions. Maximum detection range can be as little as 100 feet, or greater than 1 mile.

Depending on weather conditions (rain, snow, blowing trees) or other road conditions (hills, etc…), it can consistently give an accurate reading for 1/2 mile or so.
I don’t know about “reliable” sites, as they seem to be oriented towards “how to beat the ticket…”

if the cop car is in your line-of-sight, then you are close enough to be caught on the radar….and the technology for it improves every year, dammit!!
