I see no need to speed, If you gain an extra 30 seconds of time, I see no need to risk paying a speeding ticket.
Your friend lies. It all depends on the cop. Some cops are primarily ticket writing cops. You don’t talk your way out of those. Some are patrol cops, that may be easier but it always depends on the situation, the town, and the cop.
Stop speeding and you won’t get anymore tickets. Would you rather have people get mad at you for going the legal speed limit or get another ticket?
You probably need to be more attractive.
You can’t drive faster than the other cars around you are driving, or you will draw attention to yourself. Even if other cars are going as fast as you are (or seem to) you should not try to keep up with the fastest ones. Aim to be one of the more moderate drivers. Usually you will have a leeway of five to seven miles over the speed limit, after that you are fair game and you are risking another ticket.
Sometimes you will get pulled over and ticketed for speeding, but it was something else that initially drew the officer’s attention to you in particular. Be sure to use your turn signals when you are making lane changes, do not tailgate or cut off other drivers, don’t have your cell phone smack up against your head or propped on your steering wheel, texting, etc.
Don’t try to “talk” your way out of a ticket. But if you are defensive or cocky, then you are practically begging for one.
