Is it illegal to flash your head lights to warn others of a police speed trap, or is it just a myth?

Please refer evidence.

I know people who have been ticketed for interfering with an officer

I hope not. Not that I speed, but most cops now-a-days just try to fill their quota without regards if the person was really speeding or braking a law or not.
I think that flashing headlights is just a way for us to stay on top of things.

It should be encouraged.
If I slow someone down before a cop has to waste valuable resources doing it , I should be rewarded, not punished.

I heard stories about this on my local radio once. Some talk show in the morning asked someone to call if they had ever been caught. One guy did get caught. He passed a cop waiting for speeders and went to flash his lights to the next car that passed. What he didn’t notice until the last second was that he flashed another cop coming up the road. The officer pulled him over and goes “You wanted me?” He didn’t get a ticket but I’m sure he could have gotten one. I guess he wanted the guy to take it as a warning.

It is illegal. However, I see alot that do. I have never known anyone that got caught, because of doing it. I would think a ticket is what you get once caught.”or warning first”

If any police can prove you flashed your lights as a warning to other drivers that there was a speed control determination ahead of them, let them try.
