They have not added CHP officers in years while the state’s population has grown a lot. It’s really hard to get a ticket in California unless you’re in some specific city like Roseville or Citrus Heights where the local cops are very vigilant.
CA is a lot safer in terms of getting a ticket than most states.
If all the celebrities there (including the Gov.) paid their past due taxes, Cali would be rolling in money.
Well I must say I’m at least glad to know that Arizona isn’t the only state that is shaking down ordinary people just going about their business….. oooops I mean setting up speed traps for safety!
FYI, it’s against the law to have your bright lights on within 500 feet of any other car. That could get you a ticket too.
And you have no idea what that cop is doing there or who you are warning about it. Maybe they are looking for speeders. Or maybe a suspect in a carjacking or bank robbery is heading that way, and they are looking for *them* instead. Maybe that’s who you are warning of a police car up ahead.
Cops are getting ambushed left and right recently. I hope your effort to slow other drivers down doesn’t get one killed…
Well, I don’t know about other cops in Cali but my partner and I are avoiding giving stupid little tickets.
Yes I’ll pull you over, I will let you know that what you did was wrong and I’ll give you a warning.
But we understand as well as you do that people are in some bad financial trouble and the last thing they need is a ticket.
My advise to you is, follow all the rules of the road… yes I understand that 35 miles an hour is a little ridiculous and people don’t really ever follow it but it will save you the trouble of even getting pulled over. Be patient, good times will eventually come back.
Oh! and stay away from Glendale, Burbank and Pasadena hehe.
I know this is hard but try and keep speed and other stuff down. The chp is really out to get their bonuses. They are mad at the fact that we’re trying to legalize pot. They ran the man that was having you sign the petition away from Wal Mart. You know of coarse if pot gets legal, they’ll have to go after the ‘real’ criminals. The cops in Oroville are actually robbing people when they pull them over. Don’t worry, their just going after the ones that they know that have been in and out of jail. Yes, they have speed traps around every holiday and they will get you, no matter what. Out of towners to Orovile, watch it! We have 2 casinos here and if your license plates is from anywhere but here,in Ca. you might get a ticket!! The less money the state has, the more we get Legally robbed.
Why not just drive within the limits of the law? Makes more sense to me. Besides, in WA my county only receives 5-9% of the fine back from the state. That goes to the general fund, not to the sheriff’s budget.
