Maybe just, at every light where there is a camera, you stop, even if it a green light, and wait for the next green light so you won’y pay the high cost ticket! You can not chance going through an have the light turn red. Or, maybe require a countdown!
A coutdown would be just as effective, if not better, and people wouldn’t be cynical!

If the vast majority of citizens want these cash mach- I mean speed cameras removed, the governments should remove them. The fact that they don’t makes it clear. It’s the revenue.

Just got a $75 ticket in NYC. These things are illegal as they come. It was almost set up. If you look at the photo it just caught my vehicle doing 20miles an hour in the rain directly behind the white line. The yellow was lit for less than 2-3 seconds, it was raining! My car is a 1978 diesel it doesn’t accelerate or do i want to slam on the brakes.
You have the right to destroy these cameras since they are illegal and a fscking SCAM!

I got a ticket the other day. I´m in spain and the notice was in catalan. I wrote a notice in english requesting their notice be translated as I do not understand it. You can discharge any notice if you do not understand it. (See Bursting bubbles government deception) Their notice back said that they do not translate. Then I wrote another notice saying well then how can I help you? Lol.
Then take the money pay for the cameras and prove it!!! make sure every bit of revenue goes towords driver education for kids in school? and to help the devistated victoms familys to help them recover after a loss of the main provider in the home? there is nothing noble about this scam!!! if this was what it was about I could swallow that ! but not for new cop car’s every 2 years and high tech gadgets and retirement after 20 years with full pay and benifits till the day they die!!!

OPEN LETTER – EVERYONE (at least some of us) should get PORTABLE TESLA COILS (powered with a car battery) AND SPARK THESE THINGS! THE CAMERAS WILL MALFUNCTION AND/OR FAIL, THIS WILL WORK. WHEN THE Gov’t looses enough money repairing them, they’ll stop using them.
My arguement has been that if the Government wants to fine people at this rate, then drop the Demerit Point system, take our money which is what they want, dont take our licenses awat for petty things like this.

If cameras are about saving money the money generated from the tickets should go to the local hospitals to build better facilities!
People who DON’T do the speed limit should be the ones pulled over and booked. They cause more accidents due to the frustration of sitting behind them for mile after mile than doing a few kms over the limit would. I’m not talking about blatant stupid speeding here, but a few kms leeway wouldn’t hurt. And let’s don’t forget that speeding is attributed to less than 4% of deaths on the road annually, even though there are more and more drivers on the road each year. It’s only a huge money winner.

I know the real tolerances and i can tell you if they’re too low then drivers are more incompetant than i thought. Whats so hard about scanning your speedo evey now and then. Get off the road .

The solution is simple. The money collected should be returned equally to the citizens of the country. That way the penalty for speeding remains, but the incentive for the police to use it as ‘revenue enhancement’ is eliminated.
