Here is my issue with speed traps: if it’s about “safety” and not revenue, why don’t they make the penalty jail time or community service? That would slow people down. But they’d rather keep the speeds up and write more tickets. Like a fishing hole.

Speed traps are kinda crap. I got pulled over because I was trying to pass someone, and gave a real quick hit on the gas, probably went maybe 10 miles over the limit. Cop said I was going 50 in a 30. I was told if you accelerate real hard when a laser is on you, then it kind of exaggerates the speed. Either that or the cop is a dumbass.

You need to realize that speeding traps are more dangerous than anything else, MOST ppls reaction when they see a speeding trape or a radar is to hit the breaks whether they are speeding or not, which can cause more accidents than anything else.
