I was dumb and got a (first) speeding ticket yesterday. I also have a new summer job which I have not get started at a grocery store (county market).

Here’s the deal. My dad says I have to go to the court date to try and stop it from going on the insurance or something, so I didn’t pay the ticket right away, so the cop took my Illinois Driver’s license as bond.

The problem is, County Market needs to make a copy of my license by (preferably before) Monday’s Orientation so I can begin working there.

It’s thursday at 1:46pm where I am. I don’t get off of work until 4:00pm.

What should I do? Is there any way I can get my license back before the court date without paying the ticket? Is there something else I can use as bond?

Also, since I’m 17, will the ticket be cleared off my record once I turn 18?
So basically I can just get a copy of it made and bring it to work?

Or else let county market copy something else? They said license/soc. security card but could I have them copy my birth certificate or something instead?

Should I explain things to them?

I’m 17 and just received a speeding ticket for going 84 in a 55. The thing is my speedometer was acting up that day. It would work for a little and then stop, it wasn’t working when I was pulled over. Later this same day, my car completely died and to fix it I need to have my alternator replaced which can effect my speedometer. I plan on getting a lawyer, but is it worth it? What should I do?

I’m sort of a relaxed driver while on the road.I enjoy driving long distance like going out of town or going for a drive through the countryside and enjoy the beautiful scenery.I don’t see what’s the fun of speeding all the time like most drivers do if you’re just going for a drive in your car.when you drive at a steady speed all the time,you’re not only saving gas,but also avoiding an accident or speeding ticket.

Can I get rid of it before my court date and avoid having to hire an attorney to fight the ticket. I dont need it and it costs so much money to hire an attorney just for a speeding ticket. Please help!

I was driving to school this morning and I saw a state trooper hiding on the side of the road with his radar gun. If a went a little bit down the road and held up a sign alerting drivers about the trooper waiting ahead, would it be illegal? I’m sure the trooper would yell at me but doesn’t it go against my freedom of speech?

The last? Time that I’m all? of court for an exc? s speed they said you could take the class instead of paying if you havn’t had a ticket in the last three? res ann? es. I got a ticket, but I got my ticket as r? One hundred exc? S speed in a county? other that I’ve never had a ticket before. Can I take the class or do I pay? Not sure if this is important, but I live in TN.
