What happens when you dont show up for a speeding ticket?

I got a speeding ticket and did not appear in court when it said to. I thought i would go away. I got a letter in the mail saying to mail in my license so then I called the county and they scheduled me a court date.

I would just like to know what I should expect.
How much are fines going to be?
Can I face jail time?

Probably no jail time for just missing a court date. A police officer, drunk, wrecked into a 14 year old kid (no damage) and got her police license taken away plus only 3 days of jail. so im sure you’re not going to jail.

you default and pay the cost of the ticket and what ever else goes with it

Only a true idiot would think by ignoring his ticket, it will go away.

It turns into a warrant for your arrest after a while. Your fines will be really high and the longer you wait the worse it gets. You’re not real bright, are you?

Don’t listen to those guys down there. If you do not show up for a court date for a speeding ticket, you will probably get another fine for not showing up. If you do not show up, it will become a Misdemeanor Warrant for your arrest. Which you will be placed under arrest and finger printed and all that good stuff. But jail time, probably not.
